DIY Lash Serum
Happy Sunday!
While the weather outside is still blizzardy.. I figured I'd stay in all day to get caught up on laundry and do some DIY-ing.
Today I will be going over how I made my own homemade eyelash lengthening and growth serum.
To me, eyelashes are stunning, and make a huge different on your face. They are beautiful natural and also help to finish off a more done-up look. I have been lucky enough to have been graced with decently long eyelashes. However, who does not want thick, long, lustrous lashes?! They can never be TOO full or long. I am normally able to build mascara on mine to make them long and sweepy.
However, I hem and haw over buying lash serums that cost hundreds of dollars, and may be a temporary solution, before needing to buy more..and also are not that good for you.
This serum is made with a few simple ingredients and is all natural. The ingredients are easy to find and are nourishing and not harsh near your precious eyes. The serum naturally feeds and nourishes your hair follicles. I have done quite a bit of research before using this serum, and let me tell you...it is SUPER easy to make and has gotten amazing reviews and results!
There have been several different serums floating around for lengthening and thickening. I have used this serum a few times this week, and will keep a photo for results in a future post. This lash potion is not too heavy on the eyes, however.. make sure to only do a quick swipe/coat and not to layer too much on -- as you do not want oil running down your eyes and face. If you want to add a little thickness to the serum, you can add in some aloe. However, mine is fine how it is, and has not been an issue.
I also like full natural looking eye brows, and again mine are thick and full so I am applying it to fill in just a couple of sparse areas.

The ingredients are listed below:
1. Castor Oil
2. Sweet Almond Oil
3. Vitamin E
Castor Oil is the main ingredient in this serum, as it is full of Omega 6 fatty acids, vitamin E and other proteins. This is easily absorbed and locks in all the good nutrients you need to see thicker healthier lashes.
Some also use this oil to rub into their scalp to help stimulate hair growth as well.
Almond Oil is moisturizing and nourishing to the fine hairs.
Vitamin E does the same, and also helps to strengthen the lashes, so that they grow in length and become thicker and stronger. Same with aloe, if you wanted to again, add that in for a thicker consistency.
The results may differ from person to person and the preference on oils that are used ...but the castor oil seems to be a staple ingredient in all of the serums I've seen.
LASH LENGTHENING SERUM
Castor Oil (fill your container 3/4 full) I found mine HERE. I like this one because it comes with an easy dropper to help with easy fill, and it also comes with it's own lash tube and wand.
Almond Oil (fill your container 1/8 full) I found mine here. This one also comes with a self pump..and there are many other uses for Almond oil such as : helps smooth skin, cleanse off makeup, helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, rub on for muscle aches, treat skin rashes, relieve eczema, to brush through hair to create shine and lust and can rub into cuticles for longer nails
Vitamin E (fill your container 1/8 full) I found mine here. This one also has an easy dropper to help fill the tube.
I slowly layered each ingredient into the tube, and made sure to leave a small air gap, so that the lash wand would fit into the container without creating too much suction.
You can also add essential oils such as lavender and rosemary, which have also been said to aid in lash growth.
Apply every night before bed time.
I will try to post some results in the next few weeks, once I give the serum enough time to soak in and work its magic!!
Thanks for visiting and come again for future DIY posts!
Love,
Emma Luna
